I grew up in the 80′s and what an amazing time it was. How could someone NOT have fun when you could wear fluorescent yellow, skinny leg guess, ankle zipper pants, and people thought you were the bee’s knees. :)

The 80s; a time of big hair, silk blouses, tight skirts, fluorescent colors and lots and lots of plastic. The side pony-tail was always a hit. Big belts and bright colors reined supreme. Oversized sweaters and blazers mixed with leggings or tight jeans could be seen for miles around.  We loved high waists on shorts, pants and skirts.

If we didn’t feel light wearing tights or leggings we could rock out with our loose fit balloon style pants.  Shoulder pads, leg warmers and Member’s Only jackets were fashion staples in all the cool kids wardrobes. Also, the rocker leather jackets, crop tops, K-Swiss and Penny Loafers. :)

Here are some pictures of rounded up for your viewing pleasure. Thanks to Harper’s Bazaar 1987 Nov Issue.

Flowered pumps, stiletto heels, bobby socks and ankle boots and loafers. Fun for the entire family! And of course we can’t forget the NAIR.

Fashion icons of the 80′s included Paulina Porizkova, Linda Evans from Dynasty, Cindy Crawford, Joan Collins, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Janet Jackson, Kelly LeBrock – OMG, remember Weird Science!! We also had Lorenzo Lamas (pictured above), Baryshnikov, Don Johnson – Oh yeah, Miami VICE, and of course, Adam Ant OMG so dang sexy.
